About

Da Daghay Development Corporation (DDDC) was officially incorporated in 1989 and serves as the economic arm and for-profit entity of its sole shareholder, Ta'an Kwäch'än Council First Nation (TKC). The existence of First Nations development corporations, including DDDC, is based on the legal necessity of for-profit-driven business ventures operating at arms length from their self-governing First Nations.

In 2012, the corporation commenced to restructure its approach to economic driven business and best practices. A new board of directors was elected, a new CEO was hired, and the journey of re-fostering trust and integrity between the First Nations and its economic development corporation continued with a refreshed approach.

DDDC prioritizes strong and open governance and meaningful engagement with its shareholder and citizens. We meet regularly, host open houses, and maintain a Citizen Engagement Committee to ensure citizens are informed and aware of our activities and opportunities.

DDDC is guided by a triple bottom line approach that balances economic growth, citizen well-being, and environmental stewardship.

Da Daghay has a portfolio including commercial and residential properties throughout the City. It also leases and develops land in partnership with its Shareholder (TKC) and various other strategic stakeholders. DDDC has a diverse portfolio of investments across many industries.
