River Bend
In order to address the local affordable housing crisis; DDDC has partnered with Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, Yukon Government, and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation on a 42 unit build in Whistle Bend. The Partnership is providing affordable rental solutions to TKC Citizens and Yukoners alike.
The development consist of 3 individual standing, low maintenance, supergreen, and high efficiency principle buildings, surrounded by naturally occurring forest and an abundance of green space. Each building will contain 14 units ranging from 1-3 bedrooms.
DDDC ensured that business and contracting opportunities are provided to TKC Citizens and Yukoners.
November 1st, 2017 marked the move in date for the first 14 families in the first completed building which is over a year ahead of schedule. Currently, all 3 units are fully occupied housing approximately 60 TKC citizens and Yukoners.
